Community Learning Center Project
In 2024, as part of Governor McKee's Learn365 RI Initiative, funds were awarded that will provide the Florence Gray Center with much needed renovations and updates. This project is a collaboration between the City of Newport, Town of Middletown, Newport Housing Authority, and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Newport County. Construction will bring an updated computer lab, new office suite, bigger program spaces, more natural light, and a new staircase connecting the first and second floors. Active construction is scheduled to begin in late September/early October and must be complete by the end of October 2026. This project is being supported, in whole or in part, by federal award number CP FF N 0169 by the US Department of the Treasury. |
